Brooke Burke is an American television personality and model who is best known for her show, Wild On! (1999-2002). Apparently, her dressing style that showcased her in scantily clad bikinis became the talking point for everyone. She also hosted the E! Show Rank from 2002-03. A former Ford agency model, this lady gets often mistaken for actress Brooke Burns. But her zappy image and zest for life made her stand out from the crowd and establish her own identity.
Born as the fourth of seven children on September 8, 1971 in Hartford, Connecticut to Donna and George, Brooke Lisa Burke was raised in Tucson, Arizona. She had a Jewish upbringing from her mother’s side though her family tree also spreads up to Irish, French and Portuguese lineage. She attended the Palo Verde and Sahuaro high schools in Tucson. Brooke was a student of broadcast journalism at UCLA before the top modeling agencies started knocking on her doors and she entered into modeling full time.
Career in Modeling
One of the agencies that she got associated was Ford Models Agency that brought her television commercials like Bally Fitness clubs, Coca-Cola, and Discover Card. She was also a model for Venus Swimwear and Frederick's of Hollywood.
Her big break came, when in 1999she got selected to be the host of a popular travel series on the E! Entertainment Television channel, Wild On! Brooke replaced the earlier host, Jules Asner successfully traveling the world extensively, profiling many popular travel destinations. Ratings peaked for the show during Burke's time on the show and tailed off significantly after she departed.
Brooke’s much in news move was to appear nude at several times including for the website BlueNudes.com, May 2001 and November 2004 issues of Playboy, Maxim, Stuff, and FHM. She even got D cup breast implants for the cover shoot of Playboy magazine, which were later reduced to C size. She was the voice of “Rachel" in Electronic Arts' video game Need for Speed: Underground 2, and asks the "People and Places" questions in the video game, Trivial Pursuit Unhinged.
This famed model has worked in infomercials promoting a Swiss ball video home fitness workout named "Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets," andalso made an appearance in the first video of the series entitled "20 Minute Full Body Workout." The infomercials have screened in New Zealand and Australia.
In 2005, Brooke again returned to the anchoring scene with a show called, Rock Star, CBS summer reality show aspiring singers compete to become either the frontman or frontwoman for a rockband. The show however wasn’t successful and it was pulled off just after its second season. Brooke Burke stars as a playable character in the Burger King Advergaming title PocketBike Racer and in Big Bumpin'.
Burke was earlier married to Dr. Garth Fisher with whom she had two daughters, Neriah and Sierra Sky. The couple however, separated in 2005 after four years of marriage. She is currently engaged to French-born actor David Charvet and has a daughter with him named Heaven Rain Charvet.
The sultry diva however has no plans to rest her horses here only. She hopes to scale the heights of success through her good work and good will.
